Spicy tuna sushi rolls with avocado and cucumber
Spicy tuna sushi rolls with avocado and cucumber are a popular sushi dish that is both delicious and nutritious. Here's a simple recipe that you can try at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sushi rice
- 1 1/4 cups of water
- 3 tbsp. rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 can of tuna (in water), drained
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp. Sriracha
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 4 sheets of nori (dried seaweed)
Instructions:
-
Rinse the sushi rice several times until the water runs clear. Drain the rice and place it in a saucepan with 1 1/4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Cook for 18 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water has been absorbed.
-
While the rice is cooking, prepare the sushi vinegar. In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and set aside.
-
In a small bowl, mix together the drained tuna, mayonnaise, and sriracha.
-
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large mixing bowl. Add the sushi vinegar and mix well using a rice paddle or wooden spoon.
-
Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat with the shiny side facing down. Wet your hands and take a small handful of rice, spreading it over the nori sheet, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
-
Place a few slices of cucumber, avocado, and a spoonful of spicy tuna on top of the rice.
-
Using the sushi mat, roll the nori sheet tightly around the filling, tucking in the edges as you go. Wet the top border of the nori sheet with a little water to seal the roll.
-
Repeat with the remaining ingredients until you have four sushi rolls.
-
Using a sharp knife, cut each sushi roll into 8 pieces.
-
Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
Enjoy your delicious spicy tuna sushi rolls with avocado and cucumber!
